The Greater Cincinnati Foundation is making a difference in Avondale.

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation is dedicated to leading the charge toward a more vibrant Greater Cincinnati for everyone – now and for generations to come. That dedication is on display throughout Avondale, as programs and initiatives funded by GCF are bearing fruit and moving our neighborhood’s revitalization forward.

GCF is a funder of the Avondale Economic Mobility Fund, a grant program designed to help at-risk Avondale families avoid displacement due to new development and investment in the neighborhood. The first two rounds of the EMF featured 40 grants of $1,000 each to residents. The program was modified to be responsive to the immediate needs of residents as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing funds to help ensure residents had shelter, were able to maintain social distancing and had access to other resources.

The Avondale Development Corporation’s Quality of Life plan would not have been possible without the support of GCF. The QOL plan is the official master plan for Avondale and is helping to manage and direct growth in the City’s hottest neighborhood to the benefit of existing residents and businesses as well as those who choose to locate here.

Communication is a central function at ADC, and GCF helps make it possible. Our robust communications effort – social, digital and in person – helps keep residents informed about important issues in the neighborhood.

As the region’s leading community foundation, GCF connects people with purpose in an eight-county region of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. GCF believes the greater change happens when people come together – in partnership, collaboration and generosity. Its role is to align the right players and then coordinate their efforts and contributions to make the biggest impact.
