HeARTS & Healing

This event was designed to bring mental health awareness to the community of Avondale. Art is a reflection of life experiences created to inspire and connect with people. Many artists use their craft to express trauma and turn it into an enlightening piece of content.

At ADC, we have a group called Roots Ambassadors that meets regularly as a safe place to talk with others in the community about what you are currently experiencing in your life. Through this group, we created this event, “HeARTS and Healing” where we hosted a panel of talented local artists in Cincinnati.

This included filmmaker, Ares Giovanni, along with Jue Amman and Chris Drye from Black Art Speaks. In this panel, residents of Avondale were able to hear directly from artists on their life experiences, trauma, and the beautiful art that was born.
