ADC’s strengthens its core

These are exciting times for the Avondale Development Corporation. As you’ll see elsewhere in this newsletter, phase one of the Hale Avenue Townhomes project is complete; the official ribbon cutting will likely take place in June. Our AHIP program, which enables Avondale homeowners stay in their homes by helping them make basic repairs, is way ahead of its 2023 goal. And we’re starting to see the massive potential of Fifth Third Bank’s Empowering Black Futures program turn into reality.

Managing all this work – and this are just a few examples of what ADC is up to – requires a strong staff. As a result, we have hired two new employees and promoted our very own Patrick Cartier to director of operations and community engagement.

Jerita Simpson is our new Quality of Life (QOL) project director. Jerita brings nearly two decades of social service and community-based program administration and management experience. The QOL plan is the official master plan for Avondale, which was developed by the residents and approved by Cincinnati City Council. She’s responsible for continuing to help roll out the QOL – both ADC’s tactics and those of our community partners.

Derek McCain is ADC’s director of real estate and community development. He will manage ADC’s real estate and economic development activities in partnership with community stakeholders and ADC’s leadership and board of trustees.

Whether you’re a developer, funder, future Avondale resident or just want to be a part of Cincinnati’s hottest neighborhood, there is a place for you at ADC. Feel free to reach out to me at rhairston@growavondale.org at any time to explore the possibilities.
