Avondale Day Festival & Feet in the Street 5K

This year, Avondale residents filled the streets for one of the most successful community festivals yet. More than 300 people attended, and 225 community passports were collected—tracking activities, events, and family engagement throughout the day.

Volunteer Power

  • 37 volunteers, including

    • 23 youth volunteers who modeled leadership and service.

Festival Experiences & Demonstrations

Residents of all ages took part in a wide range of hands-on activities:

  1. UC Health Trauma Response Demonstration

  2. WhitStrong “Stop the Bleed” Training

  3. Senior Pavilion hosted by SO-ACT, featuring

    • Card games

    • Line dancing

    • Double Dutch

  4. Group Fitness Trainings

  5. Basketball Skills Clinic by HoopNerdz

  6. Tennis Clinic hosted by Ronald McDonald House

  7. Community Kickball Game with SMV Cereal Bar

  8. Youth Scavenger Hunt hosted by the Cincinnati Zoo

  9. Facepainting with ROMAC

Throughout the day, families shared meals, children played, neighbors reconnected, and new relationships formed. More than anything, the festival reminded us of the heartbeat of Avondale—a community that thrives on fellowship, joy, and togetherness.
