Avondale Development Corporation Announces Expanded Executive Leadership Structure to Advance “GrowAvondale” Vision

CINCINNATI, OH — The Avondale Development Corporation (ADC) today announced an expanded executive leadership structure as Brady A. Melton serves as Executive Director and Patrick J. Cartier has been promoted to Deputy Executive Director. ADC is a nonprofit community development organization focused on real estate revitalization, economic development, small business growth, and community engagement to create a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable Avondale.

“GrowAvondale is about building a self-sustaining economic ecosystem that creates opportunity for everyone who lives, works, worships, does business, shops, and visits Avondale,” said Melton. “That work requires alignment across residents, the City of Cincinnati, and business, corporate, faith-based, and nonprofit partners. Our leadership structure reflects that commitment—pairing strategic direction with strong operational execution to ensure that our work is inclusive, coordinated, and produces real results.”

Cartier brings more than 15 years of experience serving the Avondale community through ADC, having grown from Community Organizer to Director of Operations & Community Engagement. He has played a central role in advancing ADC’s strategic plans, leading community engagement efforts, and securing resources that directly benefit residents. His work has supported major initiatives, including the Avondale Economic Mobility Plan and programs that have delivered critical home repairs, housing stability assistance, and community-wide engagement.

In his role as Deputy Executive Director, Cartier will lead operational execution across ADC’s programs, projects, and community initiatives, ensuring alignment between ADC’s strategic vision and day-to-day implementation. He will oversee project coordination, community engagement, and partnership management—serving as a key liaison with residents and stakeholders to ensure that community input informs ADC’s work and that initiatives are delivered effectively.

“Patrick’s promotion reflects both his long-standing commitment to Avondale and the critical role he plays in the organization’s future,” said Royce Sutton, Board Chair of ADC. “His deep relationships in the community, operational leadership, and proven ability to coordinate complex initiatives make him an essential partner in advancing ADC’s mission. This leadership structure positions ADC to strengthen its impact and deliver results.”

“I’m proud to step into this role and continue serving the Avondale community,” said Cartier. “Brady and I are aligned in our commitment to GrowAvondale and to building a model that brings residents, the City of Cincinnati, and business and nonprofit partners together in a way that works for everyone. I’m excited about our partnership and the opportunity to ensure that our work continues to reflect the voices, needs, and strengths of the community while delivering real progress.”

Together, Melton and Cartier will lead ADC in advancing the GrowAvondale vision as a shared system for neighborhood growth—ensuring that residents are participants in—not observers of—the community’s future, and that public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders work in alignment to create sustained economic opportunity across Avondale.
