REACH Avondale Update

One of ADC’s strategic goals is to strengthen and expand the housing stock in Avondale while leveraging partnerships that advance and sustain economic opportunities for Avondale residents. REACH Avondale and AHIP are major components of our efforts. 

REACH (Rehab Across Cincinnati and Hamilton County) is a joint partnership between The Port and Hamilton County that focuses on single-family home new build and rehab in Avondale and other neighborhoods. In REACH Avondale, Avondale Development Corporation partners with not just The Port and Hamilton County but also the City of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and The Home Ownership Center. ADC serves as co-developer and manages resident engagement and communications.

Rehab work is progressing on Wilson Avenue, with properties across from Rockdale nearing completion; certificates of occupancy on two properties are expected within the next few weeks. Work is also moving forward on infill housing. Drawings are complete and will be submitted soon to the City, with RFP’s released shortly thereafter. The goal is to award the project in May, barring any delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Construction on Haven Street will be similar to that on Wilson. Drawings have already been submitted to the City; the RFP will be released soon and the project awarded in May.

Projects on Forest and Eden avenues are in review with the City, with the necessary requirements slated to be completed in May. The lots on Forest have been consolidated, and the next step is to split them into 11 separate lots.
